The Ilm springs from the Dachau Hills and flows for approximately 80 km through the districts of Dachau and Pfaffenhofen a.d. Ilm until it meets the Danube. The Ilmtaltour starts in Reichertshausen, train station, passing Ilmmünster to the district town of Pfaffenhofen a.d. Ilm. The tour continues north, always along the Ilm, over Rohrbach, the city of Geisenfeld with its historic town center, past Nötting with its nature reserve Nöttinger Viehweide into the ancient ducal city of Vohburg, with the oldest stone-carved diamond coat of arms in Bavaria. A delightful ride, without any difficulties, a nice day trip for the whole family.
