Piana, Porto, Evisa, col de Sevi, retour par Sagone

At the start of this route, the road from Piana to Porto crosses an incredible site of red rocks sculpted by time and the winds. Still, keep an eye and both wheels on the road, it's better! From Porto, the road runs along the mountainside, gradually rising for 30 km; with a few respites, as the profile indicates. A nice view of the picturesque village of Ota on the other side of the valley. Further on, the maquis sometimes opens onto dizzying precipices, before arriving in Evisa. It is there that a half-amused, half-concerned tourist was surprised to see a cyclist pass during the hottest hours of the day, ah those pedestrians! Well, a little descent to cool off before the last climb to the Col de Sevi, splendid. The descent to Sagone is a great moment of pure pleasure. And all the more so as it has been very, very hot during the climb; you get it, friend! From Sagone, back by the seafront ... it’s true that it’s hot. And even more so after Cargèse, when the road plunges inland and enjoys, this sadistic one, to climb the hills. I'm on the lookout for any shadow that will spare me, for a moment, from the solar furnace. Piana, phew! Wait, it would be a shame not to finish this hot walk with a little swim at Arone beach, especially since the road that runs along the ridges and descends the hills to get there offers breathtaking views. It is on this beach that I find my wife and daughter who spent the afternoon on sun loungers, in the shadow of umbrellas, not without a little interlude on the terrace of the neighboring restaurant, which, they tell me, offers delicious gourmet dishes ... So, since the time of the caveman when the males went far away to hunt mammoths while the females kept the fire and fed the children, much water has flowed under the bridges: carbon has replaced flint. But in the end ... nothing has fundamentally changed.
