Hombria del Benicadell: Atzeneta Albaida - Ráfol de Salem

We drive by car and van to Atzeneta d'Albaida, until we reach the end of the village where there is a parking lot and the Avinguda de la Font Freda begins. We start climbing for a few kilometers until we arrive at a cross with views of the entire Albaida Valley and the Bellús reservoir. We continue along the foot of the Benicadell until we reach a recreational area where a long and fun descent begins down to Rafol de Salem, where we stop for breakfast at the Benicadell social center.

On the way back, we climb the Benicadell path, which starts at the village's calvary. I do not recommend it after breakfast as it is very technical and requires a lot of effort, better to descend than to ascend. This path connects to the track that goes up to the recreational area, and we return by the same route we came. It is a route with a lot of climbing and descending, nearly all on forest trails in very good condition. During the descents, one must be careful with loose gravel as it picks up a lot of speed. You cross paths with quite a few weekend cars that go up there kicking up dust.
