In the Arno Valley to San Giovanni, much traffic can be avoided, as one can divert to the paved Arnodamm outside the villages. The SP 7 is then entirely one's own. However, one must pay for the dreamlike view of the Balze with a steep ascent to Pantravighe. The route Castelfranco - Loro Ciuffenna deserves the title of dream route: quiet, scenic, and winding along the slope. Unfortunately, afterwards the traffic increases, with a lot of momentum and without real effort towards Arezzo.
