The Beaver Castles Tour is the first cycling route in the region that offers you a Pocket-PC as a guest guide. Starting from Lenzen Castle or the tourist information office in Gartow, where you can rent your individual 'Ranger' (rental fee €9.00 per device plus a deposit of €150.00 or ID card), you will explore a round trip of approximately 45 kilometers along one of the most beautiful sections of the Elbe River Biosphere Reserve. Twice you will cross the great river by ferry and will be safely guided to 30 experience stations along the route with the help of the navigation system. Through spoken text, you will learn, for example, interesting facts about Lake Gartower or the impressive floodplain forest 'Elbholz', you can call up images of typical plants and animals of the region at the 'push of a button' and get to know, for example, the call of the sea eagle through an audio recording. A special puzzle fun for children makes the tour an unforgettable experience for the whole family. Please note that the route is only roughly indicated.
