About This Route

A circa dodici chilometri dalla foce, dalla sponda sinistra del fiume Ofanto si stacca un canale detto “Contro Ofanto” che convogliava le acque di piena per versarle nel territorio dell'ex Lago di Salpi bonificato anche grazie alla ingente fanghiglia proveniente dal fiume. All'altezza della masseria L'Olivolla, il canale si sdoppia in Vecchio Ofantino verso le saline di Margherita e nuovo verso Trinitapoli.
