From the Aabachtalsperre dam, you initially ascend to Bleiwäsche, continuing over hilly terrain with some short steep climbs on little-traveled paths to the Diemel reservoir. Here there is the opportunity to take a refreshing swim. Following the Diemel cycle path upstream, one arrives in Usseln. Not far from here, the Diemel springs. Further on, the path leads to Korbach. Via the Hessian Höhenradweg R5, one reaches the northern shore of the Eder reservoir.
