Śladem Kolejki Waskotorowej

This route follows the remnants of the embankment of the former narrow-gauge railway Lipa--Biłgoraj, which transported wood. It was created before World War I. During World War II, it was significantly extended by the Germans. Unfortunately, by the late 1970s, it fell into ruin and was dismantled by the late 1980s. Only a partially destroyed embankment and small bridges over forest streams remain.

We start the route in Lipa behind an old sleeper yard. There, we find the well-preserved embankment and ride it until the asphalt road connecting Lipa and Goliszowie. We cross that road and continue along the embankment. After a few kilometers, we pass by the abandoned village of Kruszyna, where there are also picturesque ponds. We continue to Gwizdowa and ride the embankment along the village. After some time, the embankment turns right and alternates between running alongside a forest road or on it. We continue until the forest ends and meadows begin, where we keep riding on the embankment until we reach the Białka river. On the river, there is a remnant of a railway bridge, so we can cross it, but we must be careful not to fall into the water with the bike. After crossing the Białka, we continue along the embankment (in summer, this section can be very overgrown with various grasses and small trees). We reach the back of a small inn on the road connecting Nisko and Janów Lubelski, where we can buy something to eat and drink. We then cross to the other side of the road and ride about 200-250 meters before heading back into the forest.
