The route goes through Herrieden, Wieseth north past the Hesselberg to Wassertrüdingen, then towards Heidenheim over the Hahnenkamm. On the way back, you ride south of the Hesselberg and can make a detour to the Hesselberg in Gerolfingen. The tour includes approximately 1100 meters of elevation gain. The roads are lightly trafficked.
