Overview

About this route

1

Usual training route, since we deviated from Betera towards Cartuja we already find a small slope, starting from the intersection that indicates Naquera-Serra (km25+-) we face the Alto de Canteras, we will have 5.4km at an average gradient of 1.6% with some ramps at 9% until we crown it, a small descent just before joining the CV-310 which climbs from Naquera. With this change of asphalt, the ascent to the second highest point of the route will be more bearable. Now we have 9 complicated kilometers ahead of us and with hardly any rest, first 4km making our way through Serra until we reach the Garbi crossing, known as the Alto del Oronet, 5.5% average slope being the passage through Serra and the last kilometer before said crossing the toughest points. We deviate towards Garbi on our right, a curve close to 9% that quickly smooths out and we begin to enjoy a view of what we have ascended from Serra. We come to a left hairpin bend, after which we enjoy another view, that of the Sierra Espadán, which can be seen in front of us from the balcony formed by this ascent, after 2km we reach the Pla de les Llomes, where there is a bar. A breather of 1km downhill until we find the Barraix-Garbi crossing. We turn right to face the main dish of this route: the Alt del Pi. From the crossing there are 2km that separate us from 'the antennas'. About 600 meters from the previous crossing we will have to take a right diversion (not signposted and with a radical change in the asphalt). The thing gets serious right away, 12.5% and a complicated hairpin with the asphalt very deteriorated. Then, in front of us, a straight 400 meters where at first glance we only see the first 200, we never drop below 10-12% and with continuous spikes of 16%-17.5%. When we think everything is over, the curve that seemed like a rest shows us that we are still halfway to a 'breath', the next 200 meters are even tougher than the previous ones since we will not drop below 12% until a tight left turn where we can 'breathe' (8%) 30 meters towards a new hairpin to the right, but as soon as we exit the hairpin, we see another straight of about 250 meters hellish at 17% just before the last two curves, at 7%, which will seem like a descent to us, and the last section of the climb: the final 180 meters very hard at 12%-15% ending at the foot of the antennas at 726 meters of altitude, where you think when you lean over the sea, that it was worth it...
