To get to the Milky Way, you don’t have to take to the air, just hop on your bike. The Elbe and Oste shape the Alte Land along the Elbe River, and the Cuxland along the Oste marshes, with vast moorlands or the Stade Geest. Charming black and white ladies, cattle breeding and dairy farming give the region its character. The name says it all here, because on the three circular tours of the Lower Saxony Milky Way, everything revolves around the theme of milk. Farmers, restaurateurs and the Hasenfleet dairy open their doors for visits by appointment. Two of the three circular tours pass through the holiday region of Alte Land along the Elbe. On the farms, visitors can get a peek inside the cowshed or milking parlor. The farms and Hasenfleet dairy open only by appointment. Walking on the milky way... yeah! Moo!
