Walschleben - Grundmühle - Schöne Aussicht (Fahner Höhe) Walschleben

The route can also begin at the furniture store in Elxleben. From all directions, cycle paths or well-usable dirt roads lead there. The climb beside the motorway (A71) after the village of Witterda is very tiring even with moderate west wind despite the asphalt. Next to the golf course down to Grundmühle, the path is only passable with a mountain bike when wet. The stairs immediately before the managed excursion destination should be walked down. The path further to the Schöne Aussicht via Töttelstedt is paved, not in perfect condition throughout, but still good to ride with standard cycling equipment. Just before the beautiful viewpoint, we ride the 'Länge' and enter the Fahner Höhen, until a sign directs us right down to the Schöne Aussicht (managed). There, in good weather, we have views as far as the Harz and the Kyffhäuser. We descend through the village of Witterda (several options within the village) and then take the paved dirt roads back to Walschleben around the Walschberg.
