About this route
Die Erzbahn-Zollverein-Runde führt über 43 km über die Erzbahntrasse zum Rhein-Herne-Kanal und entlang des Kanals zum Nordstern-Park in Gelsenkirchen. Von dort über die Nordstern-Trasse zur Zeche Zollverein in Essen und zurück über die Zollverein-Trasse Richtung Bochum.
Ab Gelsenkirchen Stadtpark ist eine alternative Strecke Richtung Bochum eingezeichnet, die teilweise über Straßen führt. Die Rückfahrt kann aber auch - wie auf dem Hinweg - über die Erzbahntrasse erfolgen. Dazu einfach der Zollverein-Trasse weiter folgen.
Die Tour führt fast ausschließlich über ausgebaute Bahntrassen und Kanalwege. Nur die Anfahrt vom Rathaus bis zum Westpark Bochum führt über Straßen.
