Centennial Bike Tour 100 Jahre IBM - 100 IBMer - 100 km

100 km from the IBM lab in Böblingen Research & Development to the IBM headquarters in Ehningen Attention: People who have walked this route report exactly 104 km ;-). Start on June 9 at 4 am. Arrival at 4:30 pm in Ehningen. Others, who have cycled and always followed the RADEL-THONS signs, ended up with 107 km at the end. Route description: Access to our Radel-Thon entry point in Stuttgart-Rohr is via the Böblingen cycling route: From the IBM lab on Rauhen Kapf, we meet the marked Radel-Rund route at Zimmerschlag and follow the Radel-Rund signs eastward to Panzerstraße. There we stay on Panzerstraße (thus leaving the Radel-Rund route) until crossing the highway bridge (A8) into S-Rohr. Shortly after the highway bridge, we turn right and from there on, we follow the signs of the Radel-Thon route towards S-Möhringen. The Stuttgart Radel-Thon route is well marked (the Radel-Thon signs with black arrows mark our route 'counter-clockwise' - the other ones have red arrows) and leads from our entry point in Stuttgart Rohr through Möhringen and the Neckar valley via Weilimdorf and Bärenschlößle to Katzenbacher Hof. We leave the Radel-Thon at Katzenbacher Hof and go straight towards Sindelfingen. We cross a bridge over the A8 and now ride again on the marked Radel-Rund route - past Sindelfingen to Dagersheim. In Dagersheim, we leave the marked Radel-Rund route and ride from there on the bike path along the road to Ehningen to the IBM campus. The route is suitable for trekking bikes, mountain bikes, and ATBs. Return to the lab: From the campus to the lab, we ride through the Maurener Valley to Dietzenhalde and Zimmerschlag: From the IBM campus along the B14, after a few meters we turn right (around the IBM grounds) and after a few meters turn left again passing the farm. Under the BAB 831 bridge. Turn left at the shed (whoever wants to go to Holzgerlingen goes straight on the Mühlenradtour path). At the end of the dirt road, turn right onto the road into the Maurener Valley, but already after a few hundred meters turn left into the forest path (hiker's parking). Then, one continues straight along the gravel forest path and automatically returns to the marked Radel-Rund route, thus reaching our starting point of Zimmerschlag or Rauher Kapf.
