A ride through Baixa Anoia and Alt Penedès

This Thursday, October 7th, was the turn for these two counties, where the vineyards end and the pine forests begin at harvest time. The scent of pressed grapes, the smell from livestock farms, and the exhaust from tractors carrying the fruit of the vines and the work of local people fill the area's roads. The cycling route begins where the car approach ends: in La Llacuna. This cool but still pleasant autumn day will take me back via Sant Joan and Sant Quintí de Mediona, Guardiola de Font-rubí, and Sant Martí Sarroca. After lunch, I take on the climb to Collet de la Serra (Serra d'Ancosa), long but gentle, with splendid views over Penedès, before descending quickly back to the start point. In total, 60 kilometres.
