Paterna-Chirivilla-Montmajor-Alcublas-Pedralba

Beautiful and demanding route that accumulates 1400 meters of positive elevation over a bit more than 100 kilometers and is undoubtedly one of my favorite routes. We cross the Calderona through two of its busiest passes: Alto de Chirivilla, from its Valencian side, 15 km at an average of 3%. Once crowned, already in the province of Castellon, we find a fast and winding descent until an asphalt change. From here the descent will be straighter and smoother, followed by some rollers that quickly bring us to the foot of the next pass, Alto de Montmayor from Altura. We head towards Alcublas, about 13 km at an average gradient of 5% with some hard sections. The road brings us closer to the Coto del Calarizo, where the climb really begins. This stretch of about 5 km will demand a lot from us with continuous ramps followed by short but welcome rests. At the height of this coto we will see a recreational area on the left side of the road and a change in the asphalt indicates that the good part begins. The route twists through the mountain offering incredible views of what has already been climbed. The elevation gain over the next 4 km will be close to 7% and without rest until, after a left hairpin turn, the sanctuary of the Cova Santa appears before us, and we again ride on perfect asphalt with a gradient that will not exceed 4% in the final 2 km, until reaching the summit at 951 m. Then we descend and re-enter the province of Valencia, arrive at Alcublas, descend very fast towards Casinos... Pedralba... Hard and Beautiful!!!
