Rogla Šumnik krožna pot

CIRCULAR ROUTE. Route length: 63 km. Starting point: Hotel Planja. Route path: Hotel Planja, Koča na Pesku, hut on Klopni vrh, primeval forest Šumik (cascades Mali and Veliki Šumik), Lobnica natural reserve, Dom na Osankarici, Hotel Planja. Important points along the route: primeval forest Šumik with the Mali and Veliki Šumik waterfalls, Lobnica natural reserve, Osankarica (last battlefield of the Pohorje battalion).

From the Planja pizzeria, the route leads to Koča na Pesku, where the horseback riding and fishing center Rogla is located. From Pesek the road winds towards Klopni vrh, where a cozy mountain hut awaits you with a revitalizing break. Mighty trees greet you along the path through the Šumik primeval forest, a natural reserve in the Lobnica gorge, which also features two Šumik waterfalls, Mali (9 m) and Veliki (36 m).

After a few kilometers, Dom na Osankarici offers refreshment and a visit to the permanent exhibition about the Pohorje battalion. The memorial park is dedicated to the fighters who fell in 1943 fighting the occupier. Nearby is also Črno Lake, which used to be a water reservoir for transporting wood to the valley. From Osankarica the route turns around and leads you back to Rogla via Pesek.
