Badi-Acquerino-Cantagallo-Badi

mtb route with a loop counterclockwise

From Badi, follow the SP towards Pistoia. After about 6 km, turn right and a challenging climb takes us to Torri. Now we turn right onto a dirt road that leads us into the Acquerino Nature Reserve and in about 10 km takes us to Badia Taona and to the Refuge L'Acquerino. Here we decide to extend the route by adding a dirt section that, passing through the Cascina di Spedaletto and the Passo degli Acquaputoli, takes us down to Luogomano. We return to asphalt, reach Cantagallo, follow Via della Rasa uphill for 6 km, then we take the dirt road to the left downhill to reach the Refuge Pacini. Still on dirt, we intersect Via della Rasa again, turn left until we join the SP towards Badi just beyond Monachino (if desired, from the Refuge Acquerino we can continue on asphalt to Monachino, saving km and elevation). We turn right and reach Badi.
