Levanto-La Spezia_AV 5 Terre

MTB route with a first part on asphalt, then, from Passo del Termine, unpaved until La Spezia.

Note: the actual elevation gain is about 1700 meters.

From the station, take the SP 42 Fremura-Levanto until a bend where you take the secondary road that rises to Faragiana, Lizza, Lavaggiorosso, Groppo, Dosso; around km 7, you cross the provincial road twice near a long tunnel, continue to climb for about 7 km until Passo del Bardellone, then we have about 4 km of ups and downs until the junction for Santuario di Soviore and at Passo del Termine (542 mt), where the asphalt ends and you've covered about 20 km. Now we go straight onto the dirt road that continues to rise for about 1 km, then we descend for about 2 km passing through Sella Schisarola and reaching Foce di Drignana. Proceed straight on asphalt uphill for less than 1 km, then a new dirt section begins. Keep climbing, with some challenging stretches for about 2 km, then 1 km downhill, always on the dirt, before climbing again for almost 2 km to Monte Castello. More dirt for 2 km downhill to Colle della Cigoletta and 2 km uphill. Now we have 5 km mostly downhill until we arrive at Colle del Telegrafo (from here, if necessary, you can go on asphalt via Filzi to quickly reach Biassa and La Spezia). An interval of about 1.5 km uphill, then again downhill to Campiglia and Bocca dei Cavallin (also from here, if you want, you can reach La Spezia faster, passing through Acqusanta), another section of 1 km uphill, then down mostly downhill for about 4 km until we find the asphalt on via Pezzano Alto. From here, definitely on asphalt to the station in La Spezia.
