This 138 km bike trip takes you on tha Transylvanian Highlands, a really pittoresque region of Romania, situated between Oltului river valley in the south, and Tarnava Mare river valley in the north. It’s a Natura 2000 protected site. You have about 70% asphalt and 30% gravel and forest road. The perfect bike for this trip is a gravel bike.
For this trip I chose the town of Noul Roman to be my starting point. From here you have about 138 km of asphalt and gravel roads with no particular technical difficulties. All you need is endurance, since the ascents and descends succeed all the time. In this 138 km you gain about 1343m of elevation, in a region that has only doesn't have mellow hills.
