Möhringen 49km Mitte BW_Maichingen Dagersheim Böblingen Römerstr. 490hm

A very beautiful route to the 'center of Baden-Württemberg'. The ride starts in Stuttgart-Möhringen, then goes on secondary roads through Vaihingen, and runs behind the large highway interchange for a stretch parallel to the highway, but through the forest. Then it goes through Maichingen, Dagersheim, and south of Böblingen-Hulb – from a distance you can see the Daimler factory in Sindelfingen.

South of Böblingen in the Hörnleswald forest, just before Tübinger Straße, a detour to the center of Baden-Württemberg is worth it (https://www.stuttgarter-nachrichten.de/gallery.vom-landratsamt-nach-serioeser-methode-berechnet-die-mitte-baden-wuerttembergs-befindet-sich-in-boeblingen.89029b6e-4791-4a65-8dd1-d35d2a1ca09e.html/id/c1cb25f8-9cf4-4d9f-934f-60f39d116786). Along this short path, there are also 5 small artworks by stonemasons – nice! It then continues over the A7 just before the Ehningen exit and goes again through a lot of forest, although you can always hear cars in the background. At some point, it passes by the IBM club and again through forest towards Rauer Kapf – a hill with a viewing platform and information board, from which you have a great view not only of Schönaich but also of the Swabian Jura. After the nearby American base in Böblingen, the route goes onto the 'bike highway' Römerstraße up high above Vaihingen. And then again through forest back to Stuttgart-Möhringen. A beautiful 50 km tour that is really fun. PS: Measured with an iPhone, there are slightly more than 600m of elevation gain.
