Radtour Lutherstadt Wittenberg

For the cycling tour to the Luther City of Wittenberg, various options are available to you. It should be mentioned that all route sections move along the designated Elbe cycle path. So always follow the corresponding signs! The ideal starting point for outside visitors is the parking lot near the highway (A9) of Luisium Park. Starting from Luisium Park, you simply ride the first section along the Elbe cycle path towards Wörlitz. Upon arriving at the park, you have a choice, as here the Elbe cycle path splits into a northern route over the Elbe (ferry), passing Coswig (Anhalt) up to Wittenberg, or a southern route through the town of Wörlitz up to Pratau and from there over the Elbe bridge into the Luther city. Both tours from Luisium Park to Wittenberg have the same length of 40 km, however, the southern route is somewhat flatter and quieter. The distance indicated in the route plan of 67 km is irrelevant, as the marked destination point ends in Wörlitz. If an 80 km round trip is too long, you can easily replace the return trip with the train. Just take the train from Wittenberg (Altstadt stop) to Roßlau and from there ride back 7.5 km over the Elbe meadows to Luisium Park. Follow the signs of the Dessau-Roßlau round tour. By doing so, you save almost 33 km on the return trip and have more time for your visits in Wittenberg. Explanation of the route: The short section to Roßlau does not count towards the trip to Wittenberg. This serves as your orientation for the return trip from Roßlau train station to Luisium Park.
