Overview

About this collection

0

From the rolling farms west of Lucerne up to the flanks of Mount Rigi, this collection strings together quiet backroads, village streets, and a few gravel tracks. Expect a big day out with around 2,500 m of climbing and mostly paved surfaces, with short unpaved bits that a road bike with sturdy tires can handle.

Scenery swings from green meadows and dairy country to wide views over Lake Lucerne and the Alps near Rigi, also known as the Queen of the Mountains. Traffic is generally light, but there are a few busier connectors—ride early if you want it calmer.

Great for fit riders who like long climbs and variety. 30–35 mm tires are perfect; 28 mm works if you’re comfortable on smooth gravel. Start points are flexible—link local villages and train stations to suit your day, and bail out by rail if the legs say so. Bring layers; weather shifts fast around Rigi.
