GraubĂĽnden Route

A collection of 11 cycling routes.

Overview

About this collection

Ride across Switzerland’s alpine canton of Graubünden, where big climbs, long valleys, and glacier-cut gorges keep the scenery changing all day. Expect mostly paved riding with solid stretches of gravel and farm tracks, so an all-road or gravel setup is perfect (road bikes work with a bit of care). The collection strings together quiet village lanes, mountain roads, and riverside stretches, with occasional busier valley sections.

Highlights? Think turquoise lakes in the Engadin, the dramatic Rhine Gorge, and historic Chur nearby—plus switchbacks that reward you with sweeping views. It’s the largest canton in Switzerland and home to German, Romansh, and Italian—so the signs, food, and place names keep things interesting.

Routes range from cruiser valley segments to high-pass epics, so you can pick your effort and link stages as you go. Summer through early autumn is the sweet spot; weather turns fast up high, so pack layers and respect the mountains. If you’re chasing a memorable alpine ride with a mix of smooth tarmac and honest gravel, this collection delivers.
