Our 8-day bike trip from Mainz to Bamberg shows how varied the Main cycle route is. From the urban Rhine-Main start through quiet floodplain landscapes, historic towns like Frankfurt, Aschaffenburg and Würzburg, to the more pristine river sections shortly before Bamberg, the route passes through nature, history and wine culture. With gentle gradients, excellent route guidance and constant proximity to the water, cycling here becomes pure pleasure.
