By bicycle from Villach to Velden am Wörther See

This ride is a fantastic cruise from the lively town of Villach to scenic Velden am Wörther See, ideal if you’re up for a relaxed adventure with beautiful lake views along the way. Starting out in Villach—famous for its charming old town and close proximity to the Alps—you’ll mostly be following quiet roads and a few easy-going cycleways. The route rolls gently along, with some small climbs (nothing too crazy!) and a bit more downhill as you near Velden.

About half of your path will be on proper pavement or asphalt, but keep your eyes open for sections with mixed surfaces. The scenery shifts from urban buzz into green landscapes, and you’ll catch some epic glimpses of Lake Wörthersee as you approach Velden.
