Bikepacking from Dresden to Old Town

Get ready for an epic ride! This long-distance cycling route starts in the gorgeous city of Dresden, known for its baroque architecture, grand palaces, and riverside setting on the Elbe. Leaving the “Florence of the Elbe” behind, you’ll pedal south through rolling countryside, forested stretches, and charming villages, crossing from Germany into the Czech Republic.

The route is a solid adventure—around 228 kilometers in total—with enough climbing (over 1,500 meters!) to keep your legs working. You’ll roll mostly on smooth asphalt and dedicated bike paths, but prepare for a little variety: some peaceful country roads, gravel tracks, and a few sections where the surface can get a bit rustic. Most of the way promises quiet roads and great scenery.
