Izola to Piran Cycling Route

Start your ride in the charming seaside town of Izola, known for its Venetian architecture and laid-back harbor vibes. You’ll cruise along mostly quiet roads and dedicated cycleways, making this a pleasant and scenic journey perfect for soaking in the views of Slovenia’s coast.

The route is just over 12 km, with a few short climbs totaling nearly 300 meters of ascent—nothing too tough, but enough to earn that coffee at the end! Most of your ride is on smooth asphalt, with a sprinkle of cobblestones to keep things interesting, and every now and then you’ll pass through peaceful neighborhoods and scenic stretches with sea views.

After about an hour and a half of pedaling (depending on your pace and how many photos you stop for!), you’ll arrive in Piran, a gorgeous medieval town known for its narrow alleys, lively Tartini Square, and breathtaking Adriatic vistas. Don’t forget to treat yourself to some gelato or seafood before heading back!
