Hodoško jezero

After a week without a bike, I rode a bit today. To warm up, I first did a small loop to Brezovec, through Šalamence and Vaneča to Puconce. I was helped by Bojana during this part. Then I went through Sebeborce and Ivanovce to Križevec. Before Križevci, I turned off the main road onto a forest road and looked up to the chestnut at Tetajnem. A little photo shoot followed :) I continued through Domanjševce and Krplivnik over the overpass across the railway to Hodoš and at the village center turned left towards Hodoško Lake. By the way - otters also live around this lake (although it’s hard to see one during the day), and you can also find many species of butterflies and dragonflies here. There is also a walking path around the lake. Next to the lake, there is an almost traffic-free road to Dolence (for the last year or two, this road has also been paved). The tranquility surely contributes to seeing many birds along it. After the climb past the church, I turned right at the end of the village towards Budince and continued on to Markovci. In Markovci, I discovered a road that leads over the hill to Adrijanec. However, this road is only paved to the top of the 'pass', then there is about a kilometer of gravel to Adrijanec through the woods. In Adrijancih, it joins the main road, which leads left to Šalovec. In Šalovci, I also took the route over another overpass across the railway and, over the hill, arrived in Domanjševce, turned left and at the end of the village to the right over two hills through Ivanjševce to Berkovec. In Berkovci, the original plan was to turn left towards Prosenjakovci and return home over a very steep hill through Selo. However, the sun was nearly down, and I didn’t want to ride without lights on the first day of stricter penalties. So I nicely turned right towards Močvara and after climbing at the intersection in the woods, I took the left past the Kmica observatory to Andrejec and at the sawmill turned towards Sebeborci and continued through Martjance to Murska Sobota. In the end, I nicely racked up 90 km in length and almost 1 km in elevation :) The average speed was pensioner-like.
