Keramion Frechen
Bonnstraße 12, 50226 Frechen 02234/69769 ext. 0 The building, designed in 1971 by Cologne architect Peter Neufert, was inspired by a potter's wheel. In this way, the external shape already refers to the interior of the KERAMION: it houses one of the few ceramic museums in Germany. The construction is characterized by the round roof structure with a diameter of about 32 meters. The roof is supported inside by five funnel-shaped columns, which continue in the basement as round columns. The all-round glazing provides plenty of light and creates, on sunny days, together with the white color of the room and the view into the garden, a Mediterranean atmosphere. - -:--
