It has been raining since morning, I set off around 10 am. Still 'following the churches trail', slowly admiring the views. Church in Kodeń and Orthodox congregation in Jabłeczna (a gem!). I reach Włodawa, the city of three cultures. Then, wanting to see Sobibór, I take about a 10 km detour along a gravelly muddy road. Another place that stays long in memory. Completely different from Sztutowo, here there is nothing because the Germans (I wanted to write in lowercase) destroyed everything when leaving the camp. Only remnants of barbed wire remain, grown into tree trunks. The approaching evening prompts me to look for a place to stay, but not necessarily near the Bug river, as the terrain is swampy and overgrown, with swarms of mosquitoes. I ask about a spot and the hostess in Wola Uhruska herself offers me her yard. A few years earlier a similar madman had already taken advantage of the local hospitality and paved the way for me. After dinner a walk along the Bug, which only confirmed that I made a good choice of my camping spot.
