Lac de Laffrey - Savel - La Mure 65km-980m

A very beautiful circuit around the Massif du Senepi and through the Matheysin. The roads are low-traffic and offer 'simply a lot of magnificent scenery' with a high cycling enjoyment factor. A highlight is the overwhelming view of Lac de Monteynard (the dammed Drac) and the striking mountains of the Vercors with Mont Aiguille from the (unmarked?) viewpoint 'Le Serre de la Roche'.

Since the road offers little shade, we inserted a small swimming detour to the beach of Savel – the cooling off in the turquoise Lac de Monteynard was absolutely worth the additional 150 meters of elevation.

From La Mure, the roads become even smaller and more solitary – simply a pleasure.

As mentioned, the route (we rode it counterclockwise) offers little shade, and it is advisable not to ride it in the hottest midday heat – or take swimwear and have an extensive swim break.
