08 - ITINERARIO ALLA SCOPERTA DEL COLLIO/ ROUTE ZUR ENTDECKUNG DES COLLIO-GEBIETES / DISCOVERY ROUTE THROUGH THE COLLIO REGION

By using the efficient bike-bus service Udine-Grado, you can reach, after almost half an hour, the star-shaped town of Palmanova, a Unesco World Heritage site. From here, you can discover the Collio region. The route develops among rolling vine-clad hills, through Jalmicco, the 'Ara Pacis' of Medea, dedicated to the victims of the Second World War, and Cormons. You can follow the same route for 15 km up to the mitteleuropean city of Gorizia, crossing the enchanting landscape of Castello di Spessa. Return to Grado with the bike-bus service from Cormons or from Gorizia. Each cyclist rides under his or her own responsibility and at his or her own risk. SUGGESTED DAY/PERIOD OF THE YEAR: the bike-bus service Grado-Udine is available from April to September on Saturdays, Sundays and during public holidays and every day in July and August. The bike-bus service Gorizia-Cormons-Grado is available from June to September on Saturdays, Sundays and during public holidays. Departure from Grado at 10.30. Departure from the bus station of Cormons at 4.45 p.m. or from Gorizia at 5.15 p.m. at the bus stop of the railway station. Transport timetables may be subject to change.
