Rundtour Niederdorla - Rennstieg

The tour starts at the PALUMPA-Land campsite by the reservoir near Niederdorla. Through paved roads, one reaches Kammerforst via Oppershausen and from there to the 'Zollgarten' parking lot at the edge of the Hainich Nature Park. A long ascent on a well-graded gravel road takes us to the ridge of the Hainich, the RENNSTIEG (not to be confused with the Rennsteig). Here we turn right and follow its further course marked with R. Via the EISERNE HAND, we reach the BETTELEICHE and from there continue through the forest to the ANTONIUSWIESE, a large clearing where we cross another path. Continuing along the Rennstieg, we reach the L 1016, which we cross. The next clearing is SCHILDCHEN, where benches and tables invite you to take a break.

A final effort leads us finally to the L 2104, where we turn right. After about 600 m, we again turn right onto the next paved forest path into the LANGULAER TAL. With steady descending, we reach Langula and again the L 1016, which we follow to the left. We return to our starting point via Niederdorla.
