A cycling route starting in Forbach, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany.
Overview
The tour starts in Forbach at Waldstrasse 18 in a small parking lot. Following the road and taking the first right, you head towards the former landfill, passing by the tennis courts. Now it continues on forest paths and later on a paved forest road (Herrenwieser Strasse) uphill towards Wegscheid. At the next larger forest intersection, you get on the Harzweg and ride towards Rote Lache until the fork at Holzschuhrank with its hut. Here you ride up to Wasserschlössel, turn left and continue uphill to Picos Hütte. Now it gets a bit technical. Following a grassy trail, you ride up to a lookout tower, from which you roll down on a wide forest road with a beautiful view down to an agricultural road. More or less flat, you continue to Badener Sattel and Herrenwieser Sattel. Now comes the ascent to Badner Höhe. With its tower and seating areas, the summit invites you to linger and refuel. An initially very rocky, stony descent (where some bikers dismount and push) then leads to a final short, steep ascent after a left turn. Soon, you can enjoy a long descent through beautiful coniferous forest, passing by a hunter's hut. Upon reaching Wegscheid, you bike towards Lachsberg but sharply turn left before going down to Frankenbach, briefly follow the Westweg down, and then roll back past the Schützenhaus to Forbach.
