Nacimiento del Río Vinalopó

Highly recommended route of medium difficulty with some stretches of road, several of trail and several kilometers of very fun fast track.

We start from the health center in Albaida, climbing up the Font del Patge to descend on the other side of the mountain to find the greenway of the old Yecla-Alcoy train (train Xixarra). On this asphalted greenway we pass near Alfafara to finally arrive at Bocairent, where we can see a carriage of the old Xitxarra train and the former station of Bocairent transformed into a luxury hotel. Lunch and departure towards Banyeres de Mariola, with a short but intense ascent on asphalt and then we take the path and later the trail that runs parallel to the Vinalopó River (click on the title to learn more about this river). We pass in front of the spring, see the beautiful waterfall that is a few meters ahead (el Toll Blau) and end up looking for the town of Banyeres de Mariola, from where we will undertake a very interesting descent until we cross the road. From here we head to seek the Pla de Ponce. I recommend returning to Bocairent and climbing the asphalted road of Pla de Ponce, as where we are going it will be difficult not to get off the bike for a stretch due to the poor condition of the trail. From here we let ourselves go down the track, in front of the Rielo shelter and through a few kilometers of previously beautiful trail that is now burned... but still fun. Passing through the magnificent landscape of Pou Clar and returning to Albaida via mesta.
